Bible Interpretation

We need to follow a rule of thumb when it comes to biblical interpretations, not to read the Bible and look to the world for the interpretation. But, rather read the Bible then look to the Bible for the interpretation. To see an example of how this is done we will take a look in the book of Exodus.

We know from the Bible that we are held in captivity to sin in this world and Yahshua (Jesus) has come to release us from our captivity; from the bondage we are in to sin. In the book of Exodus we find a spiritual figure to our bondage of sin we are in. As we look at the book of Exodus and remembering the Bible is written in parabolic form. We find that Egypt is a spiritual figure of this sin corrupt world in which we live. To see this we can look at the resemblance of the children of Israel in bondage in Egypt and mankind after they fell into sin; into the bondage of sin. The children of Israel did not start out in bondage in Egypt, they were free and were given by the king of Egypt the most fertile ground in all of Egypt and were free to make it their own. From the Bible we find that mankind had the most fertile ground in this world in the Garden of Eden, and they were free to make this world their own. Unfortunately mankind fell into sin and Satan became the ruler of this world; the Prince of this world. John 12:31 “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.” When we read through Exodus we find that there was a new ruler over Egypt, Exodus 1:8 ¶ “Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.” This new king that arose in Egypt we see spiritually as Satan who knew not Joseph of the Bible. Yet the Israelites in Egypt continued to be fruitful. Exodus 1:6, 7 “And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.” At this point all the children of Israel who are in Egypt have been born in Egypt for the entire generation who came to Egypt have died. Just the same with this sin cursed world we live in; we have all been born into this world of bondage to sin, much the same as the Israelites in Egypt have been born in bondage in Egypt. Just as Elohim (God) has sent a deliverer to deliver the children of Israel from their bondage in Egypt. So also Elohim (God) has sent a deliverer to deliver His people from bondage to sin in this world.

This is only one small example of how we can find the spiritual meaning in the Bible by looking not to the world for an interpretation but, looking at the Bible for the interpretation.
